Brighton v Newcastle

Both sides won’t want to lose tonight, not now that they have the promised land of the Premiership in their sights.

Both sides come into this in good form, and going on past form, the home side in this fixture normally wins. With Gayle missing, Newcastle will find it harder to win, but they still have the quality in the rest of the side.

It could go any way, but I see and hope for a close match.

Dzumhur v Wawrinka

Early match in the Dubai tournament sees Wawrinka take to the court for the first time since his 5 set loss to Federer at the Australian Open.

This should be a relatively straightforward win foe the Swiss former champ in this first meeting with Dzumhur.

Wawrinka to win £126.06 at odds 1.12

Really not happy with myself here. Stan was on my ‘blacklist’ but I still took him on anyway. He’s an enigma in that he can beat the best players in the world one day, but lose to journeymen the next.

I was always going to lose a bet eventually, 41 in a row was already my record, but to lose it in this way is gutting.

Oh well, got to move on and learn the lesson. Everyday is a school day when it comes to betting.

Stan loses 7-6 6-3 New Bank £1449.70

Tottenham v Stoke

Spurs were knocked out of Europe earlier in the week by a poor Gent side, but I won’t let that put me off today. Stoke may be a step up in quality, but Spurs always step up their own quality when playing on home turf in the league.

They’ve put 4 past Stoke in their previous 2 meetings and I see something similar today.

Lay Stoke £124.07 at odds 1.09

Tottenham win 4-0 New Bank £1,562.02

Federer v Paire

Federer comes into this match fresh from his Australian Open victory in January. You could possibly make an argument that Paire would be the sharper of the 2 players as he’s stepped onto court 6 times (W3L3) since Federer last played; but I’m confident Federer’s class will shine through.

The Swiss has won this tournament 7 times, most recently in 2015. He didn’t play in 2016 as he withdrew due to a knee injury.

I see him being keen to build on that winning record.

Federer to win £124.07 at odds 1.11

I expect Federer to extend his 3-0 H2H over Paire tomorrow.

Burton v Blackburn

Two struggling sides meet in the Championship tonight. It’s a tough one to call but I fancy Burton to just edge it.

The Brewers have put in some solid performances this season, and in my opinion should be higher in the league than they actually are. Blackburn come into this after a tough cup game against Man Utd, although they have had a couple of days extra rest than Burton.

At this level though, that shouldn’t really matter.

Burton +2 £122.99 at odds 1.10

Marchenko v Tsonga

Tsonga comes into this off the back of winning in Rotterdam; while Marchenko doesn’t have much of a record on this surface.

Expect the Frenchman to build on his good form in his home country tournament.

Tsonga to win £122.30 at odds 1.07

Sevilla v Leicester

Only Real Madrid and Barcelona have scored more than Sevilla this season, and only 5 teams have conceded less than Leicester this season.

Based on those stats alone, I’d be happy to pick Sevilla tonight. Both teams come into this match with contrasting records; Sevilla won 2-0, while Leicester were knocked out of the FA Cup by Championship side Millwall. Leicester may have won their debut champions league group, but that feels like a long time ago.

Lay Leicester £121.47 at odds 1.085

I can’t see anything but a home win tonight.
